At bgcutter, we believe your data is your own. We built our background removal technology with a privacy-first approach, prioritizing on-device processing to minimize data transfer.

1. How We Process Your Images (Free vs. Pro)

Our core AI background removal model runs completely inside your browser using WebAssembly. This means the heavy lifting happens on your machine, not our servers.

  • Free Users (100% On-Device): If you are using the free tier, your images never leave your device. They are processed in your browser memory and discarded immediately when you close the tab. We do not store, view, or train on your photos.
  • Pro Users (Dashboard History): If you have a Pro license, your images are still processed locally on your device for speed and privacy. However, to provide you with the 30-day cross-device History Dashboard, your original and cut-out images are securely uploaded to our private, encrypted cloud storage (Supabase). These files are strictly private to your account and are permanently deleted after 30 days.

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store, process, or transmit any of your credit card information on our servers. Stripe simply provides us with a secure token to verify that your payment was successful, allowing us to upgrade your account.

We use essential cookies strictly to maintain your session (keeping you logged in). We do not use invasive third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
